I have a wonderful 18 month old child who is about to become a big brother. I have no idea on how to prepare him for this major life change. He is not a brat by any means, but he is the only child and the only grandchild on both sides, so he is use to everyting being all about him. Are there any suggestions on how to prepare him or how to introduce his new sibling to him next month when he arrives?

i'm pretty sure that your son will love this new baby no matter what just make sure you won't ignore him even if u get to busy with the new baby. make him feel that his a big bro. now so it's also his job to protect and take care of the new baby. congratulations btw!!!boy or girl?

Just treat them equally. Have a personal time for each child. Explain thoroughly to the brother that you have now greater responsibility. Tell him that he too has responsibility for the younger sibling.
