I am in the US and sadly, there is not as much tolerance/acceptance for gay couples. Personally, I do not have any issues with them. I have had several friends through the years who are gay, and more recently, a gay couple. As far as I am concerned, if two people love each other, they should be allowed to be together. It SHOULD be as simple as that. And no, it does not make me uncomfortable. I am also happy to see couples who really love each other and are devoted to their relationship.

I thought that in the US, gay couples are legal and quite accepted. Maybe it differs from state to state. I have gay friends in San Diego California and in Las Vegas and they are accepted there. Anyway, it is nice to hear that you are not bothered by them and you do not discriminate them. Thank you for responding to the discussion.

So I think that you are quite afraid or just not comfortable with them? You said that if they would approach you you might have an adverse reaction? Why so?

That is nice of you that you are not bothered by them and you don't discriminate them. I really think that they have every right to be happy also and to be with the people that they love. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us and have a nice day!

I have a couple friends who are gay couple. Doesn't bother me at all. Not necessarily accepted, but they are by me.
I often visit people with my girlfriend too. I don't think it bothers most people that we're visiting, otherwise, we wouldn't be over there.

Well that is nice to hear that you don't discriminate or get bothered by them. They are also human beings like us and when you speak to them you might even like them because they are fun to be with. Never a dull moment and they are very fashionable.

I also have nothing against this. They also deserve to be happy and be with the people they are in love with.

While I don't know any gay couples per se I do have a few gay friends. Sady two have passed on with aids. I really enjoyed being in their company. We had good discussions and conversations. I have no problem whatsoever with seeing gays together. They are just like any other of my friends. In Portugal, which is a rather macho country, it can be difficult for them but little by little it is getting less and less publicity. There have been demonstrations for their cause but nothing to be upset about unless one is violently anti-gay. There are one or two in the community that frequent the same café as I, but on the whole they are accepted like anyone else.

Well I guess it is nice to hear that you do not feel threatened by them. Some people seem to think otherwise and feel indifferent with them. They are definitely more affectionate than ordinary couples. But they have to go through the bashing and indifference of the general public. I guess we just have to respect them.

well i live in the USA, so it is split as to weather they are accepted in our country. I personally do not have a problem with it. My cousin is gay and I love to see him and his partner together, but they are not a couple that hangs all over each other and act "so called gay".

en,this is an good topic. I do not have this kind of friend. But I know there are many this kind of couples in our country. I have seen an special program on this topic of Phoenix TV in China. Some gay couples are invited to this program and give their opinion on their love. The audiences can alos give their viewpoints and ask questions to the gay couples.
The marrige of gay couples is still not written into the law in my country. But I think most of the people can accept the existence of gay marriage, and many people appeal the soceity to give more care on gay.

Offcourse i do have friends who are gay couples. Yes offcourse i feel jealous when i see them, i think when i will be walking with my boyfriend. I really dream but at this age i am not even getting a single person. The main thing it is not at all accepted in our country as well as community but still we know some peoplw around who are still couples. Hats off to them.

I am part of a lesbian couple myself, and have yet to experience any obvious discirmination or the like. My friends don't care what I get up to and are supportive. The only person I know who's been bothered recently is another lesbian, but that was just because she's tired of being single. _
