Cant you start loving your close friend? Is that good or bad?

This is one of the most adverse dielema that I have felt in my life..I have a close friend since past 15 years.We have been together in all ups and downs and she is the one who always backed me up and vice versa. But recently I ve to move out to another city and from then I've started missing her and infact I realised that I'm in love with her.If I tell her my feelings and admits that friends never can become lovers and friendship is divine and I'll be a sinner if I spoil that relation. Now I'm so afraid if I start insisting, she would stop talking to me. Looking forward to your valuable advices to let me know the ways to convince her. Thanks in advance
