.. i think that is what keeps you hooked to this movie, and in fact any other richard linklater movie.. the whole honest-to-goodness chat that happens between characters doesn't even make it look scripted!

actully it's a movie that can direct talk to your heart.
i saw it on a friday midnight, with that "before sunset", which presents their second meeting in paris, though not 6 months later as they promised. after that i couldn't get to sleep.

I agree. You dont feel they're working to a script here although they are. It almost feels like you're being treated to the voyeuristic pleasure of sneaking up on a genuine real life conversation between two extremely intelligent human beings!

i agree, i fell in love wid the movie d first time i saw it and i was hooked by the conversations of the two. a lot of people say that it was boring coz they just talked, ate, and walked til the story ends but if u would listen to their conversations u will get hooked. they exchanged funny but intellectual chit-chats.
it was an extra- ordinary movie for me and it was hella romantic.

the movie is so natural! we could all relate on how we meet someone new, and get to know them better by having an intellectual stimulation through exchanging thoughts and views about love and life in general. A truly sweet offbeat film indeed

Love this movie!if i were given an opportunity by a guy to know him that way i will do the same.its really cool how u can meet someone in a strange far away place and both of u are alone.u both start talking about anything and end up just enjoying each others company and falling in love in the end.thats what makes life exciting.unfortunately, jesse and celine had to part ways ending what they found out for themselves, such bittersweet.now, meeting after 6 months...if u were linklater and would do a movie abt jesse and celine meeting after 6 months, how would the story go? this movie left me wondering...thank God linklater made a movie--- after 9 years, baby!everybody needs closure.
