I will definitly admit that kittens are adorable, but they seem to grow up to be cats who rarely want to snuggle and shed all over the place. Unfortunately, they also make my boyfriend sneeze. I'm gonna have to vote for dogs here.

Yes, I feel the same way. Dogs are more fun. When I house sat for my cousin, they had a dog that was big enough for me to take inline skaing around the block. The pavement was new and was so smooth. When their dog and I hit the street she would take off. Good thing I am a great skater (I played hockey, ice that is) as I was able to keep up.
My cousin liked that I did that as her dog would get great exercise, when they come back from their trip they could see the muscles in their dog's legs better and they said their dog looked strong. My cousin was not a strong enough inline skater to do that as she was afraid her dog would just drag her around.

Its totally depends on what kind of pets you like....
I always loved dogs...and I never exactly like cats. I find them 2 self obsessed...
Earlier I dint exactly fancy the idea of having Rabbits. But now that my sis got 2 of em I totally love em and I must say they make gr8 pets...
That way i've never had cats as pets so all i'm saying bout cats is from what i've heard.....so they just might be gr8 pets...
Any pet is fine as long as you love it...

I have never had rabbits as pets...what is it that you think makes them great pets? I'm curious.

Well I have 2 rabbits one is about 3 months old and the other is about 4 months old......
They are both really cute...my rabbits are house rabbits.
there are 2 types of Rabbits House rabbits and caged rabbits by the name i think i can come to know the latter usually live in a cage except for a couple of hours when they need to get their exercise.
House rabbits usually are not caged. Well mine have a cage but its door is always open so they just go their to sleep (sometimes) or to eat...and excrete.
the 3 month old rabbit can jump on the beds so she usually sleeps on the bed. It really annoying sometimes when you wake up with your rabbit staring at u !!
They both usually come to the dinner table during dinner time...begging for food. (they stand on their hind legs)
Rabbits are really cute and so much fun....and you don't need to take them for walks or anything...

I never knew that you could have rabbits that ran free around the house. That's pretty cool, they sound like fun.

I think more people love dogs. Me, too..i prefer dogs over cats. but we have friendly cats lingering around the house, i dunno where they came from, but nice to have them anyways because there's no more mice!

Neither----both have their place in my life, and many other people's lives. Some people don't want any pets at all---something I can't seem to get my head around though. My first dog was 6 months younger than I was & we grew up together. Kippy, a runt mix of Pointer/Beagle, was my best friend for years. He lived until he was 13. I still miss him to this day. I got my first cat as a kitten on my 7th birthday. A pure black tiny common domestic shorthair. She was beautiful & sassy. I miss her a lot too. She was special, and taught me a lot. I've usually always had both a dog & a cat most of my life. They always ended up being best pals too.

For me its cats everytime, we have four in our family, because cats are part of the family. They are independent, they don't need taking out for a walk, you don't need a cat licence like you do with dogs. They are cheaper to feed, they are self cleaners, with dogs you have to bath them. Plus when you go away, neighbours and friends are far more likely to look after a cat for you than a dog. Cats have a better temperament.

cats are for sure more convenient than dogs to take care of.

I don't really like them either, but when I go to the pet store, I always watch the lizards catching the crickets...=) they're funny.

I am a dog person through and through. Cats just seem like they use you for food and when they're ready...attention. Dogs give you unconditional love. If you're starving either they starve with you or they find you food. Dogs rock!

the cool thing is that I found out that there are some breeds of cats out there that actually are a little bit more like dogs, like ragdolls. They're pretty cool, for cats. LOL

I've always had both around so I'm not inclined towards one or the other but I love having dogs and at least one cat around. Despite the rumors to the contrary most dogs and cats will get along if raised together. Only a few breeds of dog are anti-cat.

All my life (I'm 48) I thought I was a cat person, over the last 5 years or so I've come to realize that I like owning a dog better. And honestly it's left me a little confused. I love all animals though so it's hard to say which I like best.
