should i go in my brother's marriage

i am away from my country. i came here 7 months back,when i came here i got health problem,i went back to my country and came back after 3 months.now one of my younger brother's marriage has been fixed in my country ,i want to go.but my husband is telling we can't go on short notice,your parents have to tell us in advance and should fix marriage according when we are able to go there,my parents are telling his circumstances that they had to fix that.i can't tell them,they feel bad.i wanted to go also .what i should do?how to handle this problem?
