game freezes

I've heard that using a memory card rather tran the harddrive for burnout revenge will prevent it from freezing and make it load faster. any one else heard about this?

I have played this game on Playstation 2 and I need to say that it is one of the best car racing games out there (of course, NFS is my all time fav). I havent found any problems playing in my playstation using memory card.
