How would you adapt without your sight? Hearing?

I wrote this poem about 6 weeks ago when i actually went completly deaf for about 2 weeks due to an infection. Blood running down my face my ears have sprung a leak deafness surrounds me with silent noise it scares the hell out of me you callme on the phone i cant hear it ring you shout my name in the street i cant hear you i cross the road and a car screeches to a halt but i cant hear it the driver shouting obscenities that i cant hear my children may be crying out in pain but i wont hear them i see pictures on the tv but no sound the world of deafness is a scary place can you hear me. thankfully the infection is gon and i can hear again.... jimmy
