how to make partition in hard disk

hello all I have 40GB of hard disk devided into two drives I want to make more two drives so how can I do this without formating???

You can't do this if you are talking about your internal HDD where your OS (like XP) is installed. Then you have to reinstall you computer.

I have win xp OS & I don't want to format it. Is there any other way to partition without formating or without reinstalling
