Why can't we see the no. of posts we have made or the discussions we have started against our earnings stats? that would be a good way of measuring up of how we are faring...

This would be a hard one and could end up causing more confusion. If you do want to know then you can always check on the "discussions I have responded to" and also "discussions I've started".
Many things affect our rating and earnings and they include receiving a positive (+) or negative (-) rating for either a discussion or a response and receiving a best response. Also if a discussion is deleted for any reason and we have responded to it, then we will lose the rating for that as well.
I know the average amount I receive for each post that I make and anyone can easily calculate that. If you want to know on a daily basis then take one complete day off from posting, so when you return you will be starting afresh. Then take a note of how many posts you make and see what you made for the day, and that will tell you. Quite honestly because of the various factors that come into working out the earnings, it is a hard concept. I do know also that the more responses you make in a day, the higher your earnings are per post but again not sure how it actually works.
