Why am I so afraid of success?

Every time I start to do really well at work or at anything else in my life I start to fold. It is like I am so afraid that if I excel that I will not be able to handle the success. Why is this and what can I do about it?

well dude! success wont comes easily but lot of hard work is needed! by your post i can say that you were not afraid of success but afraid of doing hard work! sorry if am wrong!

Just believe in yourself more! You have to take chances and not be afraid. You could be losing the opportunity of a lifetime.
