I've just come home from the pediatrician with a pile of literature on what vaccinations my son will get in 6 weeks. I keep reading the pros and cons on the internet. My pediatrician tells me to stop reading so much on the internet. What is your stand?

I believe it is better to vaccinate. The disease that we thought we long gone are making thier way back because ppl are not vaccinating thier children. With 3 kids none of them had any problems other than mild fevers with the shots. As a memaw I would reccomened it highly. It is better to be safe and not have to worry about all the diseases out there.
I agree with the pediatrician you can find to much junk on the internet that will cause to much worry. Read the pamplets and talk things over with his doctor. Besides your mother would not give you advice that she would not take herself. After all she loves her grandson with all her heart and would never want anything to happen to him.
A very lucky memaw

Hi! I think it's a decision every parent has to make, whether or not to vaccinate. I let my daughter have vaccinations. There is controversy about the effects of vaccinations, but nothing has been proven one way or the other. You do have to filter what you read - a lot of it is from conspiracy theorists and people who don't like pharmaceutical companies. Perhaps that's what your doctor was referring to. You will just have to decide what's best for you and your children. :-)

Thank you for your response. I was hoping to hear from those against vaccinations as well, to have a good discussion. I'm surprised no one else is responding.

I think your doctor is right. we need to protect our kids from diseases and so vaccines play their role. My daughters were given all vaccines recommnended by their doctors.
