John Mayer's style

John Mayer has very unique style of singing that is both pleasing and soothing. He is a wonderful musician and his lyrics can get very personal at times. Is there anyone that is similar to him?

Yes. There is actually someone who is very similar to John Mayer. Actually I think he is a mix between John Mayer and Gavin DeGraw. His name is Teddy Geiger. He has wonderful music. If you like John Mayer you are bound to like Teddy Geiger.

well, i both like the music of john mayer and gavin degraw, although john is the more profound one and laid-back too in terms of lyrics and all, while gavin's style is a little bit too alternative...

You might want to try Rufus Wainwright. I don't know that the themes of their lyrics and such are all that similar, but Rufus's vocals strongly remind me of John Mayer. Probably because of the way that they enunciate, or don't, haha. But yeah, it's good stuff.

Jack Johnson maybe. I prefer John but he does sound a little like him at times and I like some of his songs.

Yeah, Mayer has a wicked voice. I've been missing my CD that the ex's son decided to steal from me...the brat. I agree Jack Johnson's pretty close, followed by Donavon Frankenreiter.
