There are gospels that could be interpreted as a marriage between the two. However, I haven't seen any actual proof they had a child. Until I see proof, it's just a theory. Much like a theory floated a few years ago that he had a twin brother.

I've heard this before as well. It was said to be Thomas because apparently Thomas translates into 'Twin'. I can't remember were I first heard this but there are books written on it. Personally I don't think he had a twin, but I do think he had brothers and sisters.

Come on, ur argument about the translation, is so wrong. First, coz the bible wasnt translated in english, first time, so u cant compare thomas and twin, second coz in those times and especially around jesus, they all were brothers and sisters.

I have my doubts regarding this matter because there isn't any written proof or otherwise...but the fact that the bible was written AND EDITED by man just makes you wonder. There are lots of books banned from the bible like the book of Jubilees, the book of Enoch and the book of Nicodemus just to name a few. I think that The DaVinci Code was a great work of fiction but Dan Brown's comment on how people got offended because Jesus Christ was HUMANIZED in this story hit the spot. People prefer to keep Christ and God as divine beings...but forget that Jesus was sent to Earth as a HUMAN MAN!!!! They are,of course, divine beings but when Jesus roamed the land he was a man. A human man. Plus,Jesus has so much love to give...why not marry and have children???

Thank you so much for picking my answer as the best!!!! This discussion is great and I see that many people choose to ignore this type of argument. I've never understood the taboo of speaking your mind regarding religion and it's history. Personally, I think it's fascinating. Thanks again!!!

Dan brown's book the Di venci Code id fictional from beginning to end. If you will check out the things he claim as true you will fiind He has not done his research very well. No Jesuse did not have a child and He did not marry Mary Magdaline ether

i am not speaking about church as a building...i am speaking about the people that rule the church as a religious structure. And if you know from where church as a term is coming, please, tell us...

I havent read the book yet but I just watched the movie with my husband over the weekend and I have to say it's a very possible thing and actually Dan Browns book/movie actually isnt the first I've heard of this or that "the biggest story told is actually a lie"...there was a time some yrs ago that I'd heard about the thought and something to do with the Vatican actually....I think its definately possible and even though Dan Browns book is fiction....if you really think about it with open mind its definately something to make you think...
I loved in the movie (side note here) how they did the whole Last Supper painting thing that was REALLY interesting to the point that I blurted out "well holy crap, check THAT out!"...LOL definately buyable

After reading the book, I was fascinated how Dan Brown connected Jesus to Mary Magdalene. So I referred to the Bible, and read it. I'd rather listen to what the BIBLE states rather than arguing to a story that was made only by men.

The Bible was written, re-written, edited, ect by man - more specifically Catholic Preists, ect. There are several connections in the cannonized version of the Bible today that actually does refer to Jesus being married to Mary Magdalene. You just have to read between the lines and have a little understanding about how things were conducted during that time.

I do believe this, and I have seen the movie (kinda hard to follow since I only saw it parts). I have the book, but I haven't really read it. However, I have read a book called "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" which talks about the Priority of Zion and Solomon's Temple, as well as how the Freemasons, Knights Templar and Scottish Rite began. It also talks about the Merovingian bloodline, which is supposed to be Jesus's bloodline. It goes into detail about lots of things that were, at that time, just theory. However, in the next book following this one, it was all proven.
So, you tell me? What do you think?

I think that anything is possible and i appreciate people with open mind, not those who believe what others says without to ask themselves any question. Anyway, i am for Darwin evolutionist theory, i am not into bible and religion that much. So....if jesus had a child or not its the same with how jesus get born, his mother getting pregnant with the holy spirit. SHould we all believe this??? Its up to each and everyone of us. THx for ur response. U have been rated.

Maybe you are more interested in topics like so you can make few cents more by your uninteresting answer. As you might notice so far, i am far from being interested in making money here...coz i dont have time to answer to stupid topics, but only to those which are a bit interesting. What about you? Why are you comment each post, but you are not able to send a clear message?

i think marriage isnt the same like we know it today. maybe they just lived together like men and woman. is it so impossible to assume that they might have a relation?

You said: "i dont believe that its fiction in all the book.It must be a little truth somewhere."
And thats whay this book is so poppular. Brown mixes some historic facts with legends and his own fiction. Then it's claimed, that storie in the book and the official history are suposed to be different. This way Brown has created a story, that sounds good enough to be true. But if you'l read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticisms_of_The_Da_Vinci_Code
you can see easily, that Brown's story is full of mistakes. But that doesen't make this book less interesting to read. just don't get carried away.

i do think that jesus might have had a child thats not a big deal as far as i am concerned but i think that dan brown has really fooled people by suggesting some proofs in DA VINCI'S paintings. people everywhere now try to trace these proofs like detectives and are nothing more than star gazers in the day

I dont think that dan brown tried to fool people. But as much i am concerned, if a book can make people to visit places, to visit museums and awake their interest in religious history and other things like that....i am so happy that the book is on sale everywhere.

First off, whenever this topic is brought up, everyone wants to debate about Dan Brown. People will either follow logic, the Bible, or personal beliefs. The funny thing is though, it does not really matter when it comes to faith if Jesus had a child or not. That would not make Him less Devine, only more human.

you are right...i dont know why people think that jesus cant be more human? so what if he really had a son? We should be happy coz there are 2 ways: either jesus is more human, either we are more divine than we know.

Mind is preset about Jesus and its really tough to imagine he has child. As a fiction story, for me i read it as a novel and fairy tale that is not true in reality.
