Which celebrity death was the biggest in 2006?

We lost a lot of famous people in the year 2006. Who would you say was the biggest death and why?Steve Irwin, Don Knotts, Dana Reeves, James Brown,Ed Brantley,Coretta Scott King, Jack Palance, Mike Douglas, Wilson Pickett, etc.
While there were several, I think the most shocking was the death of Steve Irwin. He was young, healthy and doing what he loved when he died. Conservation lost a friend when he died.

I'm sure that all of these people's deaths were the biggest in their families. It is always sad to lose someone that you love. I would have to go with Coretta Scott King- Steve Irwin may have been a friend to conservation, Mrs. King was a friend of humanity!

As an Australian it would have to be a tie between three of our biggest names. Steve Irwin who everyone in the world knows, a week later was Peter Brock, one of our best known and loved race car drivers and Belinda Emmett who was a much loved actress and singer.

the two biggest ones that i knew about was Steve Irwin and Coretta Scott King. they were both inspirations in the world and will be remembered for a very long time. The most shocking was Steve Irwin. No one expected him to die and no one expected him to die the way he did. Conservation lost a friend but i think they will regain a new friend in coming years from Bindi Irwin. I have heard talk that she is following in her fathers footsteps.
