What is the motive behind Hanging Saddam Hussein? What everybody gains by stopping the right of a person to live on earth? God gave him life, so only God has the right to take his life too.. what do you think?

I think that instead of hanging him, he should just be put in a prison cell for the rest of his life. It would be a better punishment in my opinion.
