Has Cosmetic surgery made everyone self conscious?

Cosmetic surgery has many great benefits. It can fix disfiguring features and can give a new outlook on life with those who have no self esteem. However with any good comes a bad. Is it possible that because someone can pay to fix anything from their nose to their lips to a small mark on their skin, everyone is becoming self-conscious and that everyone's self-esteem is in jeopardy? Is cosmetic surgery hurting people by making them believe that only with surgery will they be beautiful?Don't get me wrong, my mom has had surgey, my sister and also my mother in law has had surgery. I think it can work wonders. But how much is too much, how far is too far?
