Were You a Cheater or An Overachiever? Be Honest.

When you were in school (or if you are in school now), were you the person who believed in the phrase “cheat or repeat” or were you the good student who was determined to study even if there was no scheduled test? Personally, I never believed in cheating. I figured if I didn’t know it by test time then there was no need to worry about it. I rather fail on my own than have someone or something help me by getting caught. But I was an overachiever, at least to an extent. How about you? And if you have cheated, what techniques did you use (if you would call them techniques)? Did you or do you ever have regrets?

I never cheated in school i honestly believe if you cheat you are not learning anything.I would always study to get ready for a test or a exam.I bebieve i was a overachiever especially around exam time.I use to have people try and cheat off of my paper which use to make me mad because i could never understand why they could not do their own work because cheating does not teach them anything and they certaintly do not get anywhere from doing it.

Thought the same way as well. But people seem to rather cheat, I don't know why. Thanks for sharing!

I have changed so much since I was at school (a long time ago since I am now 70). I never studied at school but I topped my class all through school and topped the school in my final year. I guess I was born with an academic mind and a good memory. I never saw the need for study then, but since leaving school I have become a real student, believing that if we don't learn something new every day, we are the loser. I LOVE studying now and spend most of my time reading and writing.

I was the overachiever. I never studied and I still aced every test. People cheated off of me - which I didn't really care if they did or not, because I know theyre still going to be the ones changing my oil and bagging my groceries 10 years after we all graduate.

No, I always wanted to challenge myself with school so cheating would have never given me any sense of satisfaction. I still can't understand why some people do this. I enjoy earning my grades and even failing something would have only pushed me to do better rather than cheat to avoid failing.

Believe me, I cannot understand why people do it either...but they do. I love what you said about failing being your drive to do better! Thanks for responding! Happy New Year.

i really didnt like school, however, that didnt stop me from revising (even though there is some degree of peer pressure not to) and doing really well in my exams. There is no point in cheating because unless you know what you are doing, the chances are you will be caught. However, it was still incredibly funny when one of the invigilator's phones went off during an exam!

honestly speaking i am very proud abt my school career. I was always among the top 5 in academics though i was never a nerd just tht i always calculated my time. i was among the top athletes of my school. Above all was a key member of my football team too. I would consider myself as an overachiever in college though I couldnt maintain the charm in my college life - both studies and sports!!!

Aside from taking answers written down into the test with you, with the intention of looking off of the "cheat sheet," I don't believe there is such a thing as cheating. I do believe in studying smart; that being finding a short-cut to be more prepared for the test. Example: I had a course in school where the Professor would lecture directly from the book, post a study guide in the library a week before the test, and the final grade was based only on four test scores. I went to class four times; for the tests. The study guide questions were basically the test with a few small changes. I would get the study guide a day or two out, memorize it, and I got 100% on all four tests. This is what I mean by studying smart. There is no reason to beat yourself up for two or three weeks preparing for a test when there is an easier means to the desired end. Note: To save my own grace, I do belive in studying seriously when necessary, if it's a subject you truly like and wish to pursure, then studying should almost be fun and not feel like a chore. JLD

No. I didnt believe in cheating because ISLAM says that god knows everything and he is everywhere. Even in a dark night, if a black ant is walking on a black stone, with no doubt God almighty can hear the footsteps of that ant.
