what maximum size a dvd can have???

i heard that some american man has discovered a "dvd"(disc) that can have much more than 17 gb;i don't know exactly how much;i hope we'll have those soon:D

It's actually around 4.8 GBs. Blue ray discs can go up to..50 GBs I think :P lol
