Breastfeeding: Monthly Period

Im breastfeeding my son for 3 months now. I wonder until when can i expect w/o monthly period? If i stop breastfeeding will my menstruation resumes?

I'm nursing my 15 month old and still have not gotten my period back yet. She DOES eat solids already (3 meals a day plus snacks) and she nurses through out the day and at night. I really think its different for every woman. Some have their period come back right away and others its prolonged. BUT I do think if you stop nursing your period will return soon after.
