love songs with great profound meanings are written by those whose emotion is reflected on what they have written. i think they are not empty promises but it really depends on the listener on what she wants to hear.

Some of the love songs are empty promises but somehow it's from their experiences and of course it came from reality. The challenge for the song writer is how to make a good love song with a true hope, isn't it nice?

well loves songs are a way to express one's feeling... but i dont think you can take a love song as a sign of a promise as to how a person is going to feel. Its just used to complement a feeling that one is having towards another person during a certain era in time. maybe for some it does hold true. anything is possible.

Depends on the person who listens to it. I like just about every love song because it reminds me of my husband and our love for eachother. I always dedicate songs to him and he has dedicating a couple to me.

They can be both. I guess it just depends on the person.

Love songs can not be reality. They are just a work of poetic fiction. I can safely say them as empty promises. Because in practical life besides love you have 1000 more things to do.

It can be both but it's really all up to the couple. Our future not lies only in our destiny. Destiny plays a big role but we also have to do something to make things come into reality. If we really work for it, we can achieve it.

The current state of the music industry is about making money. While some musicians may "come from the heart" with their love balleds, most have ghost writers and do it because of the possible money it can bring to them. Alot of love somgs really have no substance, and just seems to have the same cliche vocals used in songs from twenty years ago.

Abit of both, the heart will happily give out promises that may never come to be true.

Good topic mammasotho, I personally think love songs written by old legends like in the 70's and 80's put their own experiences in their songs, the new (Not all) artists, like these bubblegum singers just try and make a hit song as quick as possible and of course the best selling medium would be about love
