Vertical hood piercing. It was something I thought about for some time, and I researched which piercing in that area would be best for *me*.
Out of all piercings one can get on the body, this is one of the fastest healing. Why? Because this part of the body gets a lot of blood flow. The piercing goes through a relatively thin piece of tissue.. it takes about 4 weeks (perhaps up to 6 weeks- mine took 4) to heal. It is easy to move up to a thicker gauge barbell or ring, after you've healed, to maximize the amount of pleasure you receive from this particular piercing.
I can tell you that when I had it done, it was a sharp jolt, and the pain lasted only a few seconds. By the time I got my clothes on and walked to the counter to pay for the procedure, I didn't feel it at all. :) Later that evening, I actually forgot about it! That's how relatively painless it is, generally speaking. ;)
I can't think of any cons to this type of piercing, unless you find it too stimulating for you.. or if you have a curved barbell or ring in the piercing, you may frequently catch it on your underwear or something, if there is a snag- I can recall catching it a few times on my bath loufa. However, you can get varying sizes of barbells or rings, if you need to. :)

Hi, kaspyv! I have never had any genital piercings done in my life. And I don't think that I ever could have any. I think that it may pose some risks in being infected and what not. I would think twice about getting this kind of outer piercing. I could not see any pros or cons for this. I think that it is too risky and dangerous.
