Spanking: Do you think it's okay?

In very young childre...say about 2 to 4...it can be effective in teaching right from wrong..but it only takes one swat on the behind..not a repeated beating. Same goes for danger..your two year old is reaching for the hot oven door..he doesn't know any better..but to protect him until he gets it..a slap on the hand (once again ONE slap on the hand) and a firm HOT will help get the message across...these tactics are used to protect a child not to harm them and you need to know the difference. Slapping or swatting a child because you are tired or frustrated is not a good option...that's when you put the child in their room and go to your room for a minute to get a deep breath..if the child is old enough you can even tell them...they need to stay in their room for a minute and mommy (or daddy) needs to go to their room for a minute...for a child that is easier to understand...

Yes. It is definitely ok as long as no physical damage is done.

It is required once in a while especially with male children.
