Old age a boon or a curse

Due to medical advancement many people are living to a very ripe old age, with failing eyesight,loss of hearing,and other disablities, exhausting their savings and all financial resourses,cant afford for their daily upkeep, no family support,Abandoned by their children , or children far away,Is old age a boon or a curse,

That's a tough call. I am not usre anyone is actually ready or prepared to die. I think a lot of the elderly people do go neglected and yes, it could be considered a curse. Others, I believe enjoy life and cherish it thru the good times and the bad.
