As I have heard all mammals except humans are colour blind. But once in a way there are human beings who are colour blind. The reason might be due to many factors, but mainly a nerve problem I think. There is no cure for this. The strange fact is that colour blind people are not aware that they are colour blind. Can you remember the times when colour films were not there? I don’t think because you are young. See an old black and white movie. You can still enjoy the movie. There are special tests to identify colour blind people. The reason why traffic lights in the whole world have red on top is to make sure that a colour blind person will misunderstand.

it is the inability to perceive differences between some colours that other people (normal people) can distinguish.
it is usually heriditary and genetic disorder. but in rare cases, it is caused due to damage in brain, eye or some nerves..

not much know , but i think it will be a deficiency of the eye to make identifying the colors. If U are in a mood of accepting a funny answer - then it will be we some times failed to identify the color of the persons we met. this is due to color blindness.

Colour blindness is typically a genetic condition, and it is much more common in men than in women. Approximately one in 12 men has at least some colour perception problems. Less common, acquired deficiencies stem from injury, disease, or the aging process. Aslo, although not called colour blindness when people age, their corneas typically turn yellowish, severely hampering their ability to see violet and blue colours.
Many people thing anyone labeled as colorblind only sees black and white, like watching a black and white movie or television. This is a big misconception and not true. It is extremely rare to be totally color blind. There are many different types and degress of colorblindness more correctly called color deficiecies.
People with normal cones and light sensitive pigment are able to see all the different colors and subtle mixtures of them by using cones sensitive to one of the three wavelength of light - red, green, and blue. A mild color deficiency is present when one or more of the three cones light sensitive are not quite right and their peak sensitivity is shifted.

Everybody say the color of blindness is black...but I can say it is colourful than the colors that a normal person can see...blindness is a dream world....everybody knows the blind people can walk in their home without any abstructions...how it possible if they dont see it...they only dreams what they are doing...in simplest way I can tell you that how a man can differentiate the real and dream.....no one!!!!!!.....the only difference is the way you think about some thing....thats why I can say the blind is colorful...they can see what they want.....

Colour blindness is inability to distinguish between clors especially when they are very close. for instance, a color blind person may not be able to distinguish between greenish-yellow and yellowish-green; between purple and violet, sky and marine blue just to mention a few. I think it is caused by the inability of the retinal to acurately measure the ligh reflection coming fro those similar colors. I will give you more details wen i find out.
