Tyrants deserve that fate but was he? i believe he was. human rights violations all over the place was his crime. but didn't augusto pinochet of chile commit the same crime? of course he did! but how come the world police (the u.s. military) didn't do anything against pinochet. marcos of the philippines deserved the same fate but they evacuated him from malacaƱang palace and brought him to hawaii and now his widow is back in the philippines! i could name a dozen more tyrants all over the world, and all of them deserved the same fate as saddam...but did the world police (the u.s. military, read above) do anything? nah! they didn't plot an assassination plan against George W. Bush's dear old ex-president dad so they didn't deserve the same fate as saddam hussein.

There are things that are going on in the world that we can not begin to understand without all of the facts. And just because something just happened does not make that event the news of the day. The world is a twisted place to begin with by it's nature, and to think that there are some people who kill for the same reasons that Hussein killed thousands but they are not held accountable because of the judges of their authority. I am sure not going to have a party because of this execution.

he did what a person might have done in his place if he was.he killed the traitors and their families and nothing else, surely a better person than GEORGE BUSH - he killed millions ofinnicent people around the world.he played with the emotions and palted a policy to divide and rule between shias and sunnis and have succeded in what he was planning but surely he will never get a piece of mind and such acts only makes more terrorist attempts and proguction of terrorists will be incresed due to this event and will make US economy low and have a billions of budget of defence and war expenditure.many people are striving for food but this man is spending billions on a ruthless and non-justifying war.he is a civilised beast-devil and may god give him the ................. what every kind hearted and truthfull person wants his ........ to be.

The difference is that they didn't do anything against the US. For the US, Iraq was a threat, and they removed that threat now. Of course there will be small scale repraisals, but not anything like the WTC attack. That triggered the removal of control from both Saddam, and the Taliban in Afganistan. I think the world is more safe now.

The US military didn't carry out Saddams trial, conviction, or execution. It was all up to the Iraqi people. So, what was your question again?

I mean, are you saying because other tyrants weren't killed that Saddam shouldn't be killed? Who cares, that was then, this is now.

the US military didn't carry out anything. all they ever did was invade iraq and bring Saddam Hussein to his trial, conviction and execution. It certainly was all up to the Iraqi people but without the US military intervention, nothing would have happened. Please read my post again. nothing was said that saddam hussein did not deserve to be executed

if that was then and this is now...how come there are no US troops patrolling some parts of Africa where the killing is still going on?

yes, i think that executing saddam husain is a right decision. it is because he is responsible for deaths of many inocent people. he was very cruel and his cruelity had now ended.

if he is responsible for deaths of many innocent people so G W Bush is also responsible for deaths of too many people in 2 countries, so what do you think now, G W Bush also deserve punishment?

well the case of saddam waqs different because bush is concern and went out all his way just to make sure that what bush wants bush gets. bush also might be thinking that he will gain the support of the iraqi people when he executed saddam but it seems just the opposite. greetings. : )

i think he deserve it as far as saddam's crime is concerned.. but bush has no right to hang saddam.. only iraqi people has right to punish him. us greatest intrest is the huge amount of crude oil in iraq.Iraq is the 2nd largest country in world for crude oil production and US damand for petrol is largest in the world so us wants to place the puppet government under the the control of US.. this is my view!!

I,m very happy that it did happen. My only thing is that I wanted to see more than the rope being put around his neck. It would have been nice to see the whole ting. I know it might sound sick be the think we Americans and the people in Iraq should be able to see everything.

Yes I agreee that Tyrants like Saddam deserve this fate, and of course he was I have many friends from his own country never mind the other innocent people from other countries, I am sorry I have never herd of Augusto Pinochet I do not think that there has ever been anybody that could of done as much as Saddam did, the point in hanging someone like this it is so quick and it is over in a few minutes while other people and their families have to try and get on with their lives after Saddam had killed so many of the other family members.

tyrants are all the same all over the world. it is not the number people you murdered through the years...making you less a tyrant or more a tyrant...you're just a tyrant. http://www.remember-chile.org.uk for more information on the crimes of Pinochet thanks for your comment

You shall do some more research before forming opinions about these individuals. Saddam was in a league by himself.

Sometimes it's hard to tell which side of this whole thing the world is on. One second they're against all capital punishment then they see it on tv they don't care. doesnt make sense to me
