18 means what?

At first, I must make you know I am 19 .When I was a child , I told my mother :" I will earn money by myself when I am 18." Because I ever read an article said that 18 means you are enough old to earn your life. Now,I make my words true.From entering college on,I earn my life by myself. Although it is a little tired for me ,I am happy! When I see somebody using their parents'money to doing something useless,I felt a little sad. After all, the money only belongs to your parents.Of course , I don't mean that we shouldn't using our parents' money .I only say that we should using the money doing something useful. I don't know the person who is 18 will earn their lives by themselves in America, but I only want to say that we are old enough to do something by ourselves if we are 18, it is our responsbility .
