Our tea boy or office runner work in the company for almost 6 years now but I noticed that most of the employee are commenting on how he act and response to everyone. Even me if I call him and ask a cup of tea he will said later or talk more than he should say. I don’t like his attitude but what I can do even the most superior employee in the company don’t talk about his attitude I don’t know they are letting this man to act like senior to them. Just a moment ago our advertising director asks him about something and he said, slowly-slowly I have too much work Armando he don’t respect the man by calling him at least Mr. Armado or sir. As if he talks like superior to any one here. I don’t like his way of answering to anyone even to some regular guest.

Hi. If Mr.Armando isn't offended by this man, then what is YOUR problem? Maybe this tea boy, after six years of feeling degraded by your emotional 'caste system', is just a little 'fed up', ....had enough of the other's people's attitudes towards him, ....and has become a tad bit 'snarly'.
I think it wrong to believe that one person is better than another. All people are different, not better or lower!
We all have our special talents and work to do. Maybe if this person was treated like an equal, he will behave as so. Think about this please...

as i write this post mr.armando still mad and want to beat him but control his behavior and let it go and direct to the general manager to discuss this thing since we already recieve some comments from the guest,, that is my problem since it is my duty to monitor the behavior of the employee,,

To be obedient? He is a human for g sake, not a dog. Maybe u need to learn how to respect yourself, before u can respect others, I agree with contr.queen she is correct, it's like a slave running errors for you, whom are too lazy to get up and make your tea, but by labling the poor man a tea boy is very racial and degrading.

I totally agree with everyone that if you show respect you get respect too. I think have a talk with the boy and ask him to behave in a proper way and while speaking to him be respectful and firm. If you speak in low voice and tell him you dont expect such behavior from him he will surely mend his ways too.

This happens in some offices. There the administration should act immeadiately to do something on it.If they fail to take a action immeadiately, it not only affects the working persons but the company also. Because the performance of the company depends upon the working efficiency of the employees, if they continuously get annoyed by somebody in the same office, they can't concentrate on their work interestingly. This will affect the whole company in turn. So it should be corrected immeadiately.

Perhaps this young person started as a "Tea boy", became an "office runner" and now is a "General Assistant". One would expect that he has learned to be more useful and added to his abilities over the time he has been with the company. If not, the company should have removed him and hired a new Tea boy, if so, the why not recognise and reward his loyalty with the more respectful job title? It may well be true that as he has learned more of the working of the company he is too busy to just stop what he is doing and make tea, or it may be that it is time to employ a younger tea boy and make better use of the "General Assistant". His attitude and politeness may be in need of comment, but six years is too long to be a tea boy, (unless he has no brain).

Well for a start I have been a tea lady in my time but I never had to make tea/coffee when anybody asked we had our time for tea breaks and I was complimented on how I made the tea/coffee and I was also paid more for doing my work the way no other employees made their tea breaks. I do not think that he has a right to be disrespectful to anyone though.

I personally would not work for somebody, in ANY position, who wanted me to call him sir!!! Wow - how arrogant to expect an employee to act like you are better than them!

The condition u mentioned is so horrible for an employee. The company managment has to take care of the above situation.Even though the person is senior he has to give respect the superiors. So,i think the person should be sent out of the company by the managment

please report to concerned officials about his mis-behavior.there should be code of conduct.he has to follow it.report to the concerned officials and urge them to take actions.at least they can warm him of his behavior with others.he should be taught a lesson.let him be the boss or a tea guy everybody should know what manners is.
