according to my father this act of execution would not be good as it will divide iraq and they may have a civil war. for all the horrific things saddam caused, he still had die-hard supporters who will be willing to go on with his fight. what will be the middle east and our world like post-saddam?

personally i dont think that saddam's hanging has served its purpose, it is not going to be a deterrent for any dictator not to do all the bad things saddam has done. History seems to repeat itself, during this century we hadd hitler, mussolini, saddam and other dictators...

history definitely repeats itself.. cruel tyrants seem to think that they'd be the exception to the rule that justice will always be served..

Well.... in my opinion this is not a very wise step as indeed it will lead to division of politics in iraq... also in international scenario American Dominance is stamped wid such an act..... this will further increase hatred of muslim countries towards christian countries....

me too, i dont think it was wise. but what is done is done.. iraq, middle east, the US and the world will suffer the effects. its just so sad. i mean, they could have just imprisoned him for life just to give stability to iraq. sigh

“Bringing Saddam Hussein to justice will not end the violence in Iraq,” Bush continued, “but it is an important milestone on Iraq's course to becoming a democracy that can govern, sustain, and defend itself, and be an ally in the war on terror.”
