I think that it is up to the individual if they want to stay a virgin until they are married or not but it doesn't make a difference if married or not it all depends on if the person is ready or not.

If everyone remained a virgin until marriage, STDs would not be a concern, or at least as much of a concern, since they're already out there now. Besides the emotional factor of being pure, I think safety should be a good practical motivating factor.
