What is your definition of a true friend?

I've had ppl come & go in my life I've left friends behind in person but not in spirit.The ones who have internet access I still chat w/ & email but others I can only recall to mind even though I miss them dearly & think of them almost daily.Would you say that describes a friend or am I just fooling myself into believing I'm still a friend.

A true friend to me is one that never loses contact, is meaningful and has value. They are truly concerned for your health and welfare and allow you to come into their lives for adivce or just to see whats been up lately.

I dont see anything wrong with that. My most dearest friend lives in CA, I'm in WI. We've maintained a great friendship via email and exchange birthday and Christmas presents. He has always been there and vice versa.
