It was a show in the 70's about paramedics John Gage and Roy Desoto of squad 51. I loved that show when it was on and I had a crush on Johnny. I had pictures of him all over my bedroom walls. My boyfriend now is a fan of the show also, so I bought him a dvd of the first season of it. Of course, I bought it for me too. We have been watching an episode every night this week. I also plan on getting the other dvd's that they have out of season two and three. Does anyone else rememeber it or were you a fan of the show.?

I loved this show. I think shows like that made me into the caring person I am. You learn heaps in shows like that in how to treat people with respect no matter who they are. John Gage was also my favourite.

Yes, this show helped me develope an interest in the medical field. I went on to become an EMT with my local ambulance service.

Emergency! - The tv show of Emergency! actually promoted the beginning of paramedics around the country.
Oh my gosh, I haven't even thought about that show in a long time, but I really loved it and never missed it! Like you, I think Johnny was hot and had the biggest crush on him! I also had a crush on Dr. Brackett! I didn't even know that they had DVD's of that show and I'm gonna look for it myself! Wow, I can't wait! Thanks for bringing back those GREAT memories of that show!

I have to laugh at how many shows that I have forgotten about having watched in the past. This was one of them. I love it that the older shows are now coming out on DVD for viewing. Enjoy.

I was browsing and I came across your discussion. I cannot believe someone else remembers Emergency. When I was 3 I would sit and watch the reruns of Emergency. My mom would take me out and I always knew when Emergency (or as my 3 year old self called it, 'mergency)was going to be on. So if we weren't headed home I'd start pouting and saying, "We're going to miss 'mergency, I gotta see Roy." Apparently I understood what was going on because I'd talk about what Dixie did and so on. Thanks for the reminder of the good memories!
