yea you also aren't allowed to post URLs unless you are over 500.

I don't mind the rule and I do understand that it cuts down on the new spammers. The problem I have found is usually the ones that are copy/pasting are the ones with under 500. It's the ones with 1000's by their name. They got it that high by copy/pasting from others and just posting it in where ever they wanted it to be whether it was on topic or not.

It's a bit annoying that I can't post images, but if it cuts down on the spammers and silly posts then I don't mind.

I think it's perfectly fair. It cuts down on new user spam. I've noticed a lot less copy and pasted responses and discussions since the new rule went into effect. And it's only to 500. It's not like they set the limit at 1000 or 2000.

The user spam went down when they tightened up the pay system and passed out the instructions if you remember correctly. Then they cleared the files of all the junk posts and everyone was doing just fine! It is still an awesome site but I think it's real CRAPPY to take away something that you have given your members. They should have started the rating requirement with new members. The software used to design this site is more than capable of that. But if you expect me to jump from 150 to 500 by having conversations the length of this just to have them pay out well, that's a dream.

The spam didn't go down that much when they changed that system. Maybe for a few hours, but that was it. After that, people started copying and pasting responses to post as many lengthy responses as they could. The copy and paste comments practically tripled. And as far as I'm concerned, those are much worse than the stupid poll type discussions or one word answers. I'd rather have those than C&C spam or plagiarized comments.
It's actually not that hard to get your post count up with good discussion. I manage 50 to 100 posts a day when I'm busy.
