I've just been reading the obituary for Saddam Hussein by the BBC and have to ask this question, was he executed or was he murdered? Read the full obituary here http://mews.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/1099005.stm
It states that his invasion of Iran in 1980 was supported by the US who conveniently ignored Iraq's human rights record and atrocities like the killing of 148 people in the town of Dujail. Isn't this what he was in court about?

Saddam was a hated soul to the masses and beloved by none, so he was executed by the powers that be. Saddam would kill anyone who he didn't trust and could get his arms around. Such is the case with all evil people.
