This has really been tough for me. I've been seeking a church home for the past 4 years. And where I live, there are tons of em. but they all seem the same. I pray to God and try to see what He's saying. But I don't get a clear answer. I wonder if something is wrong with me, why can't I find a church home.
I do visit two churches regularly as I try to decide if either one is the one for me. I'll go to one church service at 9a.m and then the other at 11a.m. I am active in the church programs (teen ministry, drama ministry) but I still don't feel that connection.
Are you looking for a Church home? What are you looking for in a church?

I understand how tough it is not having a home church where you can get "connected" to God. But, if you come to think of it, getting connected to God is through His Word and through prayer. We listen to Him by reading the Bible, and we communicate with Him through prayer. We can read and pray in our own home if we can't find Him in any church.

So true that you can meet God right in your home through personal fellowship. It's so funny about 2 weeks ago, God told me that He had me going through this time so that I could learn to rely on HIM and not man.
But soon after this, probably less than a week, I found a church home. I am so happy! I think it's been about 2 years! Glory, Glory, be to God!

It can be hard to find the right church, so many are only concerned with member numbers, and money/
I have a servant heart and wish to do what I can to help others, we've been involved in our last church with teaching sunday school, singing, donations of music and sound eqpt, food ministry and had ideas for a bus ministry, and shut in ministry but the pastor didnt want it.
I was in charge of bulletins and webpage, but I never got any help or feedback and its so hard for one person to make a difference alone.
Too many people judge new comers by their car, occupation and designer clothes and thats not what its about.
I have a friend thats invited me to her church so I am going to visit and it sounds like what I have been seeking!
Very good topic!

Searching for a home church can be tough. When I was searching for a home church I listed My criteria. Fisrt It must beleive in the bible 100% and all of the bible not just parts of it. From the God of creation to the last words in Revelation. It must teach according to the bible. I would hope that I would be welcomed with open arms even if I came in dirty work clothes. I have learned that ther is no perfect church. In every church ther wil be backbiters hypocrites, and gossips. That is the church that I need because I am just such a sinner. If the church only had perfect people in it I won't fit in. I am learning to keep my eyes on Jesus not people. People are ther for the same reason I am. To worship God. try listening to these sermons to see if you would be interested in this church http://www.amazingfacts.org/media/everlasting_gospel.asp
