Both. Am I going to flip out at someone for saying things about homosexuals, etc. if they really don't know what they're saying? No. Am I going to flip out at someone who KNOWS what they're saying and is saying it to hurt others? Yes. So I believe it can go either way, it depends on what that person's intentions are.
