dumping puppys

Unfortunately at this time of the year it is much more common, with parents giving their children new pups or kittens for christmas. Here's the saying A dog is for life not for Christmas. Children get too much nowadays and parents think that a puppy will solve things, trouble is, like a toy that gets opened played a few times and then shoved back into the box and never to be seen let alone played again, this sadly happens to pups, children love them for a few days, the pup will mess, he can't help it, and the children will quickly go off him and the poor pup is ignored, the parents don't want the added responsibility so the answer is to dump them. It is terrible and disheartening. There should be more stringent guidelines about keeping animals and stiffer penalty for those that hurt animals especially in this way.
