Hanging somebody is violence. Government-condoned violence. Was it really on tv?! Oh heavens - I'm so glad I didn't see that..... I think that Saddam deserved it - but I don't think it should have been done - to him or anyone else. I believe that violence can only cause more violence, not put a stop to it. And putting it on TV - that is sending a truly scary, psycho message to any kids who may watch it, as far as I'm concerned. (Although I do agree with Sarahlee that its up to parents not to let their kids watch this sort of thing.) But I've never understood people actually wanting to watch things like this - like people stopping their cars to 'view' a car accident...

Nope I think it is a part of history. If we can endure months of complete crap on the news I think that this is acceptable. Also back in the day you would travel from all around to see someone hanged. The best part of technology is that now you don't have to since they can bring it to you! I think it is a big deal and has a bigger impact if they see it on tv!
As for kids seeing it. Parents should be monitoring what their kids watch anyways. So if the kids are exposed to it then the parents are not doing their job. Or they are instilling their personal beliefs into their children. Its up the parent not the media to control who is viewing!

I actually didn't watch it. I was commenting on weather it was appropriate to place on tv or not. I would have liked to have seen it but I don't have my tv hooked up to cable right now. We just watch dvds in my house.

i dont think that this kind of event must not be shown on tv, coz a lot of children are going to see it, the best think to do about that is to publish it on a news paper.
