have anybody encountered problem burning their personal files on to a DVD?

I tried to burn my photos on to a blank DVD using Nero software however had problem with it. One of my friend told me that it is a common problem burning files on to a DVD. Is that the reason that top computer manufacturing companies are offering free upgrade to DVD burner from DVD drive?

This might not be the problem however.. Your system might be having a compatibility issue Certain times encoding will take a longer time so it is better to write DVDs in data format
