Why should we celebrate new year?

yeah i agree with you infact festivals were started to make the people meet each other, but that meaning has lost now people celebrate festival by having parties simply wasting money for no reason,if one celebrates the other celebrates for his prestige or to show his power now people are wasting more money that earning just 2days back there were two murders that were for the sake of money to party on new year.
