A dictator is dead.Found guilty of commiting crimes against humainity and executed 56 days later,an unrepentent saddam hussein was defiant to the end.Nevertheless, all who feared the former iraqi ruler would some how return to power and continue his regime of terror-mass murder, execution, political imprisonment, merciless beatings, eletric shock, rape rooms, assination, religious persecution-can now breathe a sigh of relief.but for how long? The hanging of saddam hussien removed one more murderous dictator from the planet earth..however wat does it ultimately means to iraqi people-America-the world? can we expect peace security to eventually break out in war-torn iraq? will the iraqi insurgents lay down their arms and allow democracy to take hold ? will the other islamic militants give up their hatred for the west..?

Insurgents are now thriving becoa they get easy recruits. They get easy recruits becoz there is so much hatred in young people against the west. The young and innocent people develop this hatred because of the teachings they get from the so called religious scholors.
The question is do you want your young ones to tie bombs around their waist and blow it up against western powers. The religious scholars have to do some retrospection about their speeches.

First of all, let me just say that I love your Lindsay and Nicole icon, it made me laugh.
I'm an American, and I am by no means like our President. I am not in favor of the war, I never have been, never will. Remember, Saddam was convicted in an IRAQI court. One threat is gone.
I just wanted to get that out there...I'm an American, however I am not into violence or anything of that sort.

Well execution of Saddam Hussein was really a bad decision and it seems so how the world is reacting it. It might destroy the peace process in that part of world. And america might affect with their policy of setting peace in iraq with their militancy. They are simply exploring an opportuinty for gateway into gulf countries.

When America started the war against Iraq, they said Saddam is dangerous for human being and he has kind of nuclear bomd & bio-chemic bomd. but the truth is that has not been proved yet. then why we went for a war. todat's latest news is america lost 3000 soldiers in Iraq, anyone interseted to know how many Iraqi people killed in inlast three years? Saddam is no more for last two years, but have Iraqi people seen the face peace yet? NO, right ..? war is not the solution! and America has to understand that. power is not the ultimate. feelings for the people is main thing. you can help people in various way, you have to choose which way u want to go! stop war, save life, bring peace in earth

Unless we erase out the cause of terrorism we can't expect there will be no terrorists. There are many problems in this world now. Everyone has their own reason for a fight but the end result is we have unrest at some place or the other all the time. The most unfortunate part is these small scale unrests are showing no sign to stop. I hope new year brings peace.

it might not change the world as we know it today but he deserved to die for his atrocities against the people. it wont bring back loved ones or take away the pain of having these things done to them but it will give the victims and families of the victims closure in that he has now paid for what he did

The trial of Saddam Hussein over the massacre of Shiite villagers resumed today (Apr 06, 2006) in absence of the deposed leader, who in a fiery tirade the day before dismissed evidence linking him to the killings.
The hearing began with a single defendant in the dock, Awad Ahmad al-Bander, the former chief judge of the revolutionary court and deputy head of Saddam's office, who was recalled for further cross-examination.
It was not immediately known why Saddam was not in court.
Bander is one of Saddam's seven co-defendants accused over the massacre of 148 Shiites from the village of Dujail after an attempt on the Iraqi leader's life there in 1982.
He was called after testimony given in previous hearings indicated that 35 minors were executed

I want to revive this thread because I believe he is innocent of 60 percent of the accusations thrown at him. Christians and Jews in Iraq were happier under his rule.

upto america is there it is really ironic to think about peace...because america is killed so many thousand of iraqis in this war...
nothing will happen after saddam hussaein only america have to suffer with post-violation crated by saddam supporters that is already began by them.
what about laden? pakistan is the nation which is the headquarter of terrorists...such as doud, laden etc..
will america shows same eagerness to destroy terrorist headquarter in pakistan???
if no....then we can't peace after saddam
and yes....then there are some hopes!!!
