web traffic?

what do we mean by web traffic? why does the website paying for web traffic? how does web traffic, ads and the users realated?? I was just wondering because i've read some comments about paying us to browse and the word "web traffic" is always stated..

that happens coz of collision of packets wen no.of packets sent r more than the capacity [bandwidth]!!...more the collision more is the traffic

yah, when more signals are being transmitted the bandwidth space decreases and that causes traffic and delays while browsing the net... thanks for the comment... ;)
