i have to learn the computer languages.......

it depends on what you want to do with your computer. if you want to develop webpages etc, i would recommend u learn html and php, css etc. learning languages like C, java will do u not much good unless u want to be a hard core programmer

Do you know what a computer does? I mean the technical side of the computer like memory, CPU etc. If you are not sure about it then start with studying the internals of a computer. Why i said this is because in order to understand many programing terms you need to have a basic knowledge of the hardware related stuff. Okay if you know about all such things then your next step is to learn one programming language. For a beginner it is always better to start with C language. This is not because C is an easy to learn language but it is because all the other languages have some similarities with C language. It teaches you many programming concepts. Now a fact, Unix Operating System which is one of the most powerful OS is developed on C. From this example itself you can understand the power of C language. So go for it. All the best.

You can start form c, c++ and html as per your interest, for that find any good book for the language u selected.
