Cute words from children

I work with children a lot. I think they are delightful and I love the odd things they say at times. For instance, one little boy prayed: "Lord, if You can't make me a better boy, don't worry about it. I'm having a real good time like I am."
What cute sayings can you remember children saying?

My little boy is constantly saying cute things. Whenever we are trying to get his attention, we take him by the face in our hands and turn his face towards are and say "look at me" well, imagine our surprise when our little two year old did that to me! (of course, just because it is cute, doesnt' mean it's appropriate!) we had to keep a straight face while we explained to him why this was innappropriate. One of my little neices will say " would you please not look at me right now momma?" when she is about to do something she knows she shouldn't, and then when she is about to recieve a spanking or a time out, she will ask "daddy, what are you going to do to me?" very very cute!

Thanks. Good response: three in one!
"Look at me" is so necessary when dealing with some children. They are natural copy-cats because that is the way they learn. It must have seemed really cute, but I'm glad you handles it the right way.
"Don't look at me now" is another way of shutting the eyes, thinking "if I can't see you, you can't see me." I think most children think that at sometime in their development.
Thanks for sharing.

I absolutely adore little ones and when mine where little I used to love what they used to come out with
It was hard though to explain to them not to use certain words it used to sound Funny I have to admit but I had to teach them not to say those Words
My Friends little Granddaughter is 2 and when someone trips or when she trips she will say "Steady Girl" and it sounds so adorable lol
I have to admit I am only 45 but I do look forward to my Grandchildren which won't be for a while lol my Son is 22 and engaged but no Kids for a while and my Daughter is 19 and building her Carreer up and I am proud of both

Thanks Gabs. I am 70 and have five wonderful sons, but they are rather slow in giving me grandchildren. I have five - 3 girls and 2 boys - but the biggest problem is they are so far away. Two of my grandaughters are a twelve hour drive from here and the other one is a twelve hour flight. My two grandsons are only a four hour drive (in the opposite direction) but they are teens now.
It must be really quaint to hear "steady girl" from a two year old. You have lots of happy times ahead when you do become a grandma - and I'm sure a great one at that!

I can't offer up much just yet. My girl is only 6 months old, but we'r eelated that she's started to make "babababa" sounds. She also rubs her hand across her mouth to make "bububububub" noises.
She's had an uncanny knack for gargling since she was about 2-3 months old. She must enjoy it, as she's up to olympic standard now and can hold a note for ages!

I know just what you mean. My girl rarely makes prolonged eye-contact with me, as she's too busy looking at everything else. That just makes it even more special on the occasions when she looks lovingly at me. There have also been a few magical moments when she's upset and I just look at her and smile and she breaks out a huge beaming grin in return.
I was lucky enough to capture one of the 'I love you' looks on camera a couple of weeks ago. The picture didn't come out crystal clear, but it's one of my favourites to date. Thanks for starting this discussion, I just can't wait for her to start talking!
I also remembered my niece, when she was about 2 or 3 she would love to ride in the car, but every time she felt the slighteset g-force from a bend or bump in the road, she would say "Hey, Canny on the corners!" Canny is local dialect meaning (in this instance) 'take it easy'.

Well my word is "DON'T canny on the camera" Photos are great memory boosters. My photos of my children when they were young give me much joy. I'd hate to be without them.

I saw "last response from Rhinoboy" and I thought it couldn't possibly be his daughter. She would only be a few months old!
Oh those so, so sweet sounds! I think one of the most wonderful experiences in life is "eye talking" with your own baby - just the two of you, alone. Wouldn't you just love to crawl inside their heads and know what they are thinking? Of course, they can only think in feelings, but I often felt I knew exactly what we were saying to each other.
Well, your daughter can do something I can't! I've never been able to gargle and she's a champion already.

My grandaughter wanted to take her favourite toy to shcool. My daughter told her she was not to allowed to take it, and my grandaughter told her that everybody else does it. My daughter replied: "Well, you are not everbody else". That same evening, my grandaughter would not eat her dinner. My daughter asked her why she wasn't eating her dinner, and my grandaughter said she didn't like it. My daughter said, "Well everybody else is eating it", to which my grandaughter replied: "Well, I am not everybody else. Am I?" I must say, my grandaughter suffers from mild cerebral palsy, but she comes out with the wittiest of remarks.

Thank you for sharing that. It is so true that children copy their parents and others.
We have such a responsibility towards them, don't we? That is the reason I get concerned about all the trash on television and in songs. Children learn so quickly.
Many happy days with your grandaughter in the new year!

yes it must be wonderful to work with children and it is amazing the things that they come out with and say I have a little grandson and he told his Mum, all I want for Christmas is a basketball and his mother said is that all he said yes as Santa has too many presents to give out. I thought it was wonderful for any child especially as he is only 2 years old thinking about not being greedy at his age.

I agree Kathy. There is so much "I" from people of all ages, that it is refreshing to see such a response from one so young. He must have good parents, and I suspect a good grandma to have developed that attitude. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for sharing.

That is adorable! I work with them every day too. One thing that stands out was when a little girl I was caring for was lining up all the crayons on the floor. I asked her why she was leaving certain ones out. She said "I can't play with those. They're naked." I could go on and on. They are a hoot!

I don't have any kids, but I love how innocent they are when they are young. I did date a mexican man at one time and he had had three of the cutest little girls. I loved doing things with the girls. We went to the zoo, to the beach, the kids discovery center and lots of picnics in the the park. One time when we went to the park for a picnic with the girls, I caught the girls looking at my skin in comparison to theirs. Then the middle one asked me, "Are you Mexican, Leigh Anne"? I thought that was so funny. Maybe, you had to be there, but I thought it was so cute and innocent and funny, too!

The cutiest thing i have hear from a littlie in a while came from my daughter `s work .She runs childrens playgroups and each week this year she has taken in a different animal for the children to lear about.Well the last animal she took in was a snake (atherton jungle python non venemous) she had the children amazed by the snake they learn`t all about them and importantly not to tough them. we ARE TALKING ABOUT COUNTRY CHILDREN HERE NOT CITY CHILDREN .
After viewing the display photos on the table one little boy pipes up and says "oh look its going to have chickens " there was a picture of a snake sitting on it`s clutch of eggs

That's so cute, Cloud.
I smiled at recalling what a little girl called Niamh, whom I minded from 7 months to Nursery age, said to me one day, when I took her home from Kindergarten.
I prepared her some lunch and we were sitting at the breakfast bar in the kitchen eating, and talking about what she had done at Kindergarten. She said, "Every morning, when we get to Kindergarten, we have to say, Good Morning Bob Jore." I asked who Bob Jore was... I just couldn't grasp it. lol.
Eventually, after her repeating this several times, I realised that they were trying to teach the 3-4 year olds some basic French, and what they were actually supposed to say was, "Good Morning - Bonjour"! Ha ha ha ha ha. I did laugh at that one.
She's at school now. I wonder if she has the French Language in her curriculum! lol.

Children never cease to amuse us, bewilder us, surprise us, thrill us; and so much more. We couldn't possibly live without them - well, I couldn't anyway!
Thanks again.

This 5 year old boy's parents went for a lie down on a Sunday afternoon, and he played with his ball in the house, and then he knocked down a very expensive vase. He then quickly ran to hallway and say in a very deep voice: George this is God, you are not allowed to spank children on Sundays

I love it when kids say cute things, my nephews are so adorable for it. The other day conner (the eldest of the two) brought home a plant from school and he decided to name it after the screaming plants in harry potter. And my sister told him that talking to plants helps them grow and he asked is it because they like carbon dioxide and we breathe it on them when we talk? (hes only 5/6!!) so he starts talking to the plant and breathing on it *so adorable* then all of a sudden starts scream... the plant was replying to him (the harry potter thing) Then he says "would you like a drink of juice?" "yes please, would you like one too?" "yes i would, mummy the plant says that i can have a drink of juice"
He is the cutest thing ever! I hope my child is as cute as that when i have one ^_^

One thing that pops to mind was a day when we were at the swimming pool and we were all floating in the Lazy River. My youngest was still in water wings and used to glide around the water on his dad's shoulders. All of a sudden I heard a squeal and my son went wizzing by waving at me and pointing at me, saying, "There is my Cuddle Duck!" It was somethng we would say to each other, but I don't think my husband had ever heard it before and nearly drowned himself laughing at it.
