How does a person forgive people that are suppose to be family, but have hurt you many times, I want to forgive and try to forget because they are family but I don't know how or where to start.

Nobel, well I am going to try to forgive them in my heart and that is about all I can do, the people in question don't and won't admit that they have done anything to hurt anyone, but I guess as long as I know in my heart that I have tried that is all I can do for now..maybe someday they will see what they have done to others

Sometimes you have to just learn to let the past be in the past. You cant go back and change it. If the person is truely sorry then you have to just move on and get over it. You can't change the past you just have to learn from it! The problem is that even though you may try to forgive and move on, the memory of it is always going to be there and there isnt a way to just erase it from your memory!

I try really hard to let it all go but it just seems to eat at me, I want to do the right thing and forgive within my heart but maybe the problem is just too close and complicated...

We do that everyday to some of our relatives. they are really bad to us, they keep saying wrong things about us to others but whenever in trouble we are the only ones who help them. and we do it again and again because if we dont, they might not survive and in hope they'll someday give up all the bad deeds.
