My favorite was "Joe Versus The Volcano", and "Splash".
While "Joe" was obscure, "Splash" made Tom a real star. Sure, I was keeping my eye on him when he was in "Bosom Buddies", a rip-off of "Tootsie" and "Mrs. Doubtfire", but he was very talented, and that I could see. He was so cute, so self-effacing, so easily driven to laughter and anger! He was a natural. Sometimes I think that he's gotten stiff in his old age. Stiff is okay, but when he's done things like "Forrest Gump" and "Apollo 13", why is he starring in things like "The Davinchi Code"? It just doesn't seem right. He's not taking chances...he's not stretching himself as often as he used to.
I'm looking forward to more masterpieces like "Fro The Earth To The Moon"...I hope he gets off his duff and starts banging a few movies out!

Oh, I liked Tom singing and playing the ukulele in "Joe", which he did very, very, nicely. He's a musician, and he hasn't told anybody!!!

I really loved Joe and The Volcano; Forrest Gump was another, Sleepless in Seattle, The Green Mile was one; This man is a hell of an actor and anything he would put himself into with the remote exception of Road of Perdition (which I haven't watched but just cannot think he plays a hitman) is nothing short of extraordinary; He is one of the best. but I will have to say Joe and the Volcano. I liked the hope he expressed in the movie. I also loved the late Ossie Davis' role as the chauffeur in that movie; so that is it.

All his movies have something or the other that makes the experience worth remembering. But if asked to pick one I would have to say Forrest Gump
