Here we hide coins under our beds for wealth. Also, some wear polka dot clothes to signify abundance of money. Right now, there are a lot of fireworks all around. What are your new year customs?

We put all sorts of round fruits at our tables too! I guess, we do have some similar customs - only with different variations. Happy New Year!

Here in the USA we have different customs in different parts of the country and different families. Some go out partying (and drinkin) some shoot off fire works some make sure there are no left over food in the fridge. One custom I heard of the mother sweeps out the door as the clocks strikes midnight to sweep out the old year. Here in the southern states a New Years food is Black eyed peas and collared green which is as I understand it is to bring wealth.

go to temple in the early morning . have a good prayer for the world's sake. get blessings of the lord . distribute sweets to all . greet all. eat well , go to film or somewhere outing. and enjoy the day . of course this is being done in India. I have not included here the 31st night party9dinner with soft drinks and crazy dances). many will go to hotels some will sit in home and enjoy the same in tv channels . thanks catchre for nice posting
