with their hair? My wife has beautiful hair. Everyone thinks so, but her. One of my best friends has beautiful hair, she hates it. matter of fact, my wife wants her hair and she wants my wife's hair. It drives me crazy! What is it with women and disliking their hair?

i don't think that's it's happening with women only. it happens to everybody although men are more subtle about it. it's human nature to always look or change something. it gives us fullfillment and confidence. some men have thinning hair, some have thinning hair but get transplants. generally, it's the women who are more conscious, but in reality we all are.

that's true, but once a man got his plugs, transplants and such, would he be happy then?

I have been married to the same girl for 25 years, 26 this April and in all that time she has never, ever had a hair cut that she actually liked. To make things worse she almost had a hair dresser training how she would like her hair to be and starting to like what she did and BAM. Her hair dresser moved away and started her own shop. My wife still gets a tear in here eye when she thinks about her. Shortly after we met and were going out she got this perm, short curly hair and I am a long hair lover. Ever time I saw here for months I wanted to break up, but I bit my tongue and her perm grew out. :)

that's a good story. One time my ife wanted me to cut her hair -- just a trim, and I said no way. I am not gonna touch that because if she didn't like it, which she probably wouldn't, then I'm to blame.

I've asked my DSO to trim my hair before and been steadfastly rebuffed for, undoubtedly, the same reasons. *g* As for hairCUTS, I don't get haircuts. I get trims when absolutely necessary to get rid of the split ends. That's IT. No more haircuts for me. Haven't had a true haircut in years. Mom scarred me for life with the short hair! :)

I am a women and I love my hair, I am very happy with it. Its easy to take care of and I can't think of anything I would change about it. Its about 3 ft. long, I wear it in a pony tail alot. My hair is greying, but just at the temples. I even like how my grey hair is coming in. I have no plans on dyeing it neither. I am a gramma, I have earned every grey strand. Maybe I am the strange one, who likes her hair.

I'm glad to hear that. I just never quite understood this whole hair thing, and even after all these great responses, I still don't!

I think that the short answer is no. But if anyone has been with a lady long enough I am sure you have seen what I have. Why is it that my wife takes about 15 minutes to do her hair. Then after she has put every hair in its correct place, she asked me how it looks... (This is a trap) I say it looks lovely, and it ALWAYS does, so I am not lying. But with in two mintues she is back fixing her hair once again. What is the deal with that? And hair spray... oh man don't even get me started. I should get some stock in a hair spray company, that way I could attempt to offset some of the costs for her making her hair just right.

lol -- my wife doesn't use hair spray that much, but we go through hair gel by the gallon.

I don't think it's all about their hair, but about human's way of thinking...You'll never be happy with what you got...always you''ll want more.About your wife, maybe this problem began from her childhood, the only solution that you have is to repeat her every day how beautiful she is or her hair is,and maybe some day she'll believe you..it's only a problem of time!

It's funny, I love my hair, every part of it, I don't know why, but i guess i'm definately not like any other girl... Most women i know are always trying to change it, to make it look like someone elses but the only thing i do is try new colors, keep it fresh, That's my thing. I just love it, And that's me... I think the major reason women always want it like someone else's is because of all those damn stereotypes that are out and about of 'how we should look and act and be' It's not right, and it's definately not fair... What happened to the day when a woman could be herself and love herself for that!

This is an interesting response. it's funny how little things like hair can have such far reaching implications. I'm curious though, has there ever been a day when women could be themselves and love themselves for that?

hahaha, the grass is always greener in the other chick's yard, lol. Don't know, really. I could identify when I was a kid and ppl called me rude names because of my red hair, but I'm totally happy with my hair color now. Women are their own worst critics. Just a quality you'll have to ignore or learn to live with somehow, lol.

It just doesn't make sense, but then a lot of things don't make sense, so why should this be any different?

I have never been happy with my hair; I've always wanted perfectly straight hair, but I can't count how many times hairdressers or friends have envied the natural curl in my hair. I think it is a female thing, although I hate to admit it!

thanks for admitting it. Hmmm.. if that's a female thing, I wonder if guys have an equivalent thing that they are never happy with.

LOL. Trust me, it's just one of those mysteries of the universe. It's right up there with, "Do these jeans make my butt look big?" Hehe. I've never been completely happy with my hair, either. :) But at least now I'm an adult and I can grow it long. My mom always kept it really short when I was a kid because I was a tomboy and she didn't want to deal with the nightly de-tangling and picking out twigs and dirt and sand and... Well, anyway. But yes, even now with my long hair I don't completely like it. But it's sure better than the boy cuts of my youth! :)

Yeah, that sounds very familiar... almost like looking into the mirror. To be honest, women are insecure and always unsure about their looks. And it all starts with that. Hair is one of the few things they can experiment with or change or atleast fancy about changing. Because with every thing else there seem to be lesser choice. And as the ancient proverb goes the grass always seems to be greener on the other side of the meadow but (we forget this) equally hard to cut on both the sides.

I have naturally wavy hair with a mind of its own. Some days I like it. Most days I don't. I think my hair doesn't like me, although I trim it regularly, give it nice moisturizing shampoos, and try (oh how I try) to make it look its best. The only time it seems to look nice is late at night when it's time for me to sleep. When I have a REALLY bad hair day I can't just put it up because I wind up with little short frizzies everywhere that look ridiculous. I keep telling my husband that I would love to have hair like Julia Roberts. She just shakes out her mane, tosses it back and it looks fabulous! My husband keeps reminding me that Julia Roberts has an army of hair dressers at her beck and call...

Women like men are never satisfied. There must always be something better. I don't know why. Is it human nature? Lots of my kind also worry about their hair style, I don't. But my non-satisfaction is expressed in different area of my life. When will man (or woman) for that matter, be ever satisfied? Satisfaction will remain an illusion.

sorry to inform you but a 'satisfied woman' is a myth a fable they always find ways to annoy males they ask questions that no matter how you answer you are insulting them ignore them they just get louder romance them they want more the above aplies to anything not just hair eg does my bum look fat in this? 1 yes. you are saying their bum is extremely large 2 no. you are saying that it covers their more than ample backside 3 umm. you are saying there bum is fat but it does not look too bad 4 no answer. you are saying you dont care about her

That's not fair, there's some women like that, that can't get satisfied enough, and it's because they have been shot down over and over again, They can't feel comfortable with themfelves at all period and don't know how. Because of this they don't trust the word of the one they love ever when it comes to the way they look unless they can see it in their eyes that they truly love the way they look. You can't judge a woman by the "woman" stereotype, It's not fair at all because not one of us fits your 'criteria' Everyone is different, And when it comes to the way a woman looks, usually being unsatisfied has a lot to d with Trauma to their ego and self esteem. Why don't you get to know a woman before you start to judge what a 'woman' is like, and how she thinks, Cause bud, YOUR WRONG!
