Do you think South Park is offensive?

Do you think South Park is offensive and should be on television? Or do you think it's exactly what we need on TV? I think that it's a great outlet for what most of us are thinking, but don't want to say. :P

I think it is a great show, although it is offensive in many ways. The people who don't like it should know how to operate a remote to change the channel. And it should be aired during the kids' bedtime hours so they don't learn any swear words. It is a funny show, which uses current events to entertain the viewers, and they say things on the show that just is not politically correct to say anywhere else.

Even though South Park can be offensive, most of the time it's quite funny. And some of the things they say they don't really mean it, its just to make us laugh :P

I think South Park is awesome, as you said it has the guts to say what people are thinking. It can be pretty vulgar sometimes but i love the fact no subject is taboo with them. Unfortunately for me, here in Australia all we get are reruns that have been on like a million times, but having said that the fact that is has aired for about 5 years non stop on one of our least popular stations certainly comments on its popularity. I wish we had some new episodes here, I would certainly tune in.

i dont think so, but this doesnt mean that im tolerating some of the foul and vulgar words this cartoon has. It depends to the viewers on how they take the words inside it.

There's a show called Penn and Teller; Bullsh!t. No joke. That's the name of the show. Check out the episode on vulgarity in language. It's pretty amazing that we deem words as "vulgar." But, you are right, it does depend on the viewer, and everyone is entitled to their oppinions. Thank you very much for your input!

I totally think it is offensive, but thats why everyone loves it! I do think it is a good outlet for people to see that others do think like they do...even if it is not proper. And even though it is sooo politically incorrect it always has a moral to the story sort of thing going on! Otherwise it would be completely wrong! Haha I love it and I will always continue to watch it as long as they keep making new episodes! And I love the reruns!

I think South Park is very offensive and insulting. I do not let my children watch it. It's a terrible influence.

South Park is NOT intended for children. It's a cartoon for adults. I agree with you that it is a terrible influence for young children, but teenagers and adults alike can enjoy this show. Thank you for your oppinion!

I agree completely with what you said, it's an outlet! I think it's great that it's on tv because it makes fun of EVERY culture and EVERY type of person. No one person is made out to be superior. It shows us that it is ok to laugh at things and not be so hyper sensitive all the time! I love Comedy Central in general and love how they equally make fun of everyone :)

i also agree with you. south park is a television show that speaks from the minds of society. it says things that people want to say but really cant. i do not think it is offensive, but i am not a minority, so it may be different if you are.

That is a very true statement. In one of the episodes, I believe it is Kyle who states something about them always haveing to learn a lesson.

Personally I think the show is sick. But my husband loves it. I don't see why it shouldn't be on TV these days you can choose to put locks and limits on the channels so your children don't watch them.

South Park is one of the funniest shows out there. Now they have destroyed so many good old tv shows that you cant do anything against the rules with out be bad for the children. they have ruined so many tv shows by doing things like this. look at sesame street, they changed cookie monster because he wasnt healthy enough and bert and ernie cant live together because that would mean they are gay. the kids are 1 year old they dont care if two guys live together. thats why southpark is the only think left that can still do whatever they want and thats why it gets such good ratings.

I think the show is disgusting, offensive and full of bathroom humor...and I look forward to watching it every week. I love that the boys say exactly what they are thinking without worrying about whether or not they are being politically correct. Even though it is animated, this is not a kid's show and I hope parent are responsible about not letting the children watch.
