How many myLot members have their birthday on January 1 and do people forget about it? A friend of mine has her birthday on January 1 but asked if people would celebrate it on June 18 so it would be remembered.

I don't have a holiday birthday but it must be hard for some people who do. I know people whose birthdays are only "sort of" close to the Christmas (Dec. 9, 12, etc.) and they STILL have relatives that give them just one gift and tell them that it's for their birthday and Christmas combined. Is it so hard to give people their own special day, once per year?
I understand why your friend would like to have a celebration for her own day and not for New Years ... did she choose June 18 as a "half birthday" or "half year birthday"? I've heard of people doing that and I always thought it was neat. I also feel for those born on a leap year... only getting your "real" birthday once every four years.

Thank you for this response. First I don't know why she chose that date, I think it was just a random date, and I too feel sorry for the ones born on 29 February.
My eldest daughter has her birthday on 18 January so I have to remember not to overspend at Christmas. I also have an Aunt whose birthday is 28 Dec, really struggle to remember that one.
Have a really good New Year when it arrives there.
